Trico LivingWell Volunteer Roles:

The Facilitator – Download PDF

Reporting to the Recreational Programming Lead, the Volunteer Facilitator would create and facilitate their very own recreation programs, with our residents. Whether you teach a topic, lead a game, or put on a performance, we want you to share your passion with our community!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate engaging recreation programs in large and small group settings as well as 1:1.
  • Coordinate supplies and preparations with the Recreational Programming Lead.
  • Document participation levels and resident feedback to evolve programs.
  • Other duties and tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • Have a passion you are able and willing to share with our community.
  • Good organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Must be fluent in both written and spoken English, other language proficiencies will beconsidered an asset.
  • A current (within 6 months) Police Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Screening.
  • Trico LivingWell provides care for at-risk client population, and we are committed tokeeping our residents and staff safe. All volunteers are required to be vaccinated against both COVID and the influenza variants. Efforts will be made to accommodate anyone who requires accommodation for medical or religious reasons but not guaranteed given the nature of our workplace.

The Buddy – Download PDF

Reporting to the Recreational Program Lead, the Volunteer Buddy spends time with our residents one-on-one. You’ll have the chance to spend the day enjoying everything Trico LivingWell has to offer – stroll in the park, enjoy our programs and activities, and share stories with your new friend.  Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate buddy bonding through recreation with residents in small groups or 1:1.
  • Bring residents to daily recreation programs and enjoy them together.
  • Other duties and tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • Have clear communication and empathetic ability to establish therapeutic relationships.
  • Must be fluent in both written and spoken English, other language proficiencies will be
  • considered an asset.
  • A current (within 6 months) Police Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Screening.
  • Trico LivingWell provides care for at-risk client population, and we are committed to keeping our residents and staff safe. The Supporter – Download PDF

Reporting to the Recreational Programming Lead, the Volunteer Supporter would support the residents at our daily recreation programs. Whether it’s a program in the wellness centre, creative studio, theatre, memory care floor or even somewhere out in the community, we appreciate the extra help! 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support our independent living, assisted living and memory care residents during recreation programs with patience and respect.
  • Assist our recreation team in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating ourprograms and events.
  • Other duties and tasks as required. 

Qualifications:

  • Be positive, cheerful and have a passion for recreation programming. 
  • Must be fluent in both written and spoken English, other language proficiencies will beconsidered an asset.
  • A current (within 6 months) Police Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Screening.
  • Trico LivingWell provides care for at-risk client population, and we are committed tokeeping our residents and staff safe.
