Emotional Wellness Series With Centro Geriatrics

At Trico LivingWell, wellness surrounds everything we do; it’s the foundation of our culture. As a part of our commitment to wellness, we host regular holistic wellness workshops.

In 2024, we are thrilled to be able to bring an Emotional Wellness Series to our community in partnership with Centro Geriatrics. Facilitator Jackie Herman will lead participants through eight educational group sessions that help build resilience to cope with anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, and life transitions associated with aging. The following topics will serve as the foundation of each session:

March 15: Introduction to Wellness

2:00-3:00pm in the Trico LivingWell Theatre

In this session, participants will learn about why emotional health is important and how this is connected to physical health. Please RSVP no later than March 11, 2024 for this event.


April 12: Joy

2:00-3:00pm in the Trico LivingWell Theatre

In this session, participants will learn how to look for joy when life is challenging, as well as finding slivers of joy in everyday ordinary experiences. Please RSVP no later than April 8, 2024 for this event.


May 10: Gratitude

2:00-3:00pm in the Trico LivingWell Theatre

In this session, participants will learn concrete tools to help them practice gratitude, as well as its emotional and physical benefits. Please RSVP no later than May 6, 2024 for this event.


June 7: Mindfulness

2:00-3:00pm in the Trico LivingWell Theatre

In this session, participants will explore the concept of mindfulness, and how it affects our brains, bodies, and emotions. Please RSVP no later than June 3, 2024 for this event.


July 5: Coping with Change

2:00-3:00pm in the Trico LivingWell Theatre

Participants will learn how to approach change in a way that eases uncertainty. This is done through focusing on the things they can control and building resilience. Please RSVP no later than July 1, 2024 for this event.


August 2: Self-Compassion

2:00-3:00pm in the Trico LivingWell Theatre

Participants will learn about Dr. Kristen Neff’s Three Elements of Self-Compassion, and the benefits of practicing self-compassion. Please RSVP no later than July 29, 2024 for this event.


August 30: Hope

2:00-3:00pm in the Trico LivingWell Theatre

Participants will learn how to look and listen for hope so that it can be grown and improved, in order to protect them against depression, anxiety, chronic illness, and pain. Please RSVP no later than August 26, 2024 for this event.


September 27: Memory

2:00-3:00pm in the Trico LivingWell Theatre

Participants will learn about how memory works, and what does and does not change with age. This session explores the many factors that can affect memory including dementia, physical health problems, hormonal changes, medication, vitamin deficiencies, fatigue, anxiety and stress, and depression.
