Walking Together for a Cause: The 2025 Alzheimer Calgary Walk & Run
On October 12, 2025, the Trico LivingWell team laced up their shoes, bundled up against the early snow, and joined hundreds of Calgarians for the annual Alzheimer Calgary Walk & Run. Despite the chill in the air, the energy throughout the day was absolutely heartwarming – a testament to the power of community and compassion.
Our Sponsorship Commitment
Beyond participating, Trico LivingWell is proud to serve as the Presenting Sponsor of the Alzheimer Calgary Walk & Run. From 2024 through 2028, we have committed $150,000 in supporting Alzheimer Calgary – a pledge that goes beyond one event, reinforcing our long-term dedication to this cause.
A Day of Connection and Compassion
The morning may have started with snowflakes and cold noses, but it quickly turned into something beautiful. The laughter, smiles, and determination of participants created warmth that outshone the weather.
Adding an extra layer of comfort to the day, the Trico LivingWell culinary team was on-site serving up hot coffee and fresh doughnuts to walkers, runners, and volunteers. Their thoughtful touch brought smiles (and warmth!) to everyone braving the cold – a small gesture that perfectly reflected the community spirit of the event.
“The community connection that this event brings to us is so inspiring. I love attending this event – it reminds me of the heart and spirit that defines Calgary,” shared Brandi Young, Director of Resident Services.
Why We Walk
For us at Trico LivingWell, this event holds a very special place in our hearts. As a community that includes a dedicated Memory Care neighbourhood, we walk not only to support Alzheimer Calgary, but also to honour our residents who are living with dementia – and the families who love and care for them every day.
Supporting the Walk & Run is an extension of our mission to help individuals live well, no matter where they are in their journey. It’s a way for our team to stand alongside our Residents, their families, and the broader Calgary community – showing that together, we can create a more compassionate, understanding and supportive world for those affected by dementia.
Thank you, Calgary!
To everyone who donated, participated, and cheered us on — thank you. Your generosity and spirit made this event unforgettable. Together, we continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families impacted by Alzheimer’s and dementia.
We’re already looking forward to next year’s walk and the opportunity to once again stand side-by-side with our community in support of such an important cause.
Memory Care at Trico LivingWell
Just as we proudly support Calgarians living with Alzheimer’s through the Walk & Run, our team at Trico LivingWell extends that same compassion to residents in our Kingsland Junction community who are living with dementia and other cognitive conditions.
At Trico LivingWell, our Memory Care program is rooted in relationship-centered care – nurturing each resident’s unique needs, interests, and strengths through purposeful engagement, personalized wellness, and meaningful connection in small, supportive group settings.
