Donna was a very active and independent senior in her early seventies when it happened. While on vacation, she suffered a stroke which significantly impacted her left side, especially the use of her left arm. With over 25 years of experience in the health industry, she possessed a profound understanding of her condition and its consequences, leading her to the practical realization that remaining in her condo in Calgary was no longer a feasible option.
“I knew that a galley kitchen was not going to work for me,” she says. While Donna was recovering in hospital, she enlisted the help of her brother, Archie, to explore her options. “We’re really close. He’s a chartered accountant, and I trust him with a lot of things,” she explains. TV commercials promoting Trico LivingWell intrigued Donna, prompting her to request Archie’s investigation. Archie met with Brandi Young, Trico’s sales consultant, and toured Trico LivingWell’s newest offering: an inclusive living residence. “He was very impressed,” says Donna. She was, too, and moved into her new suite in December.
